川上盛司

栃木県出身、1995年生まれ。かつてプロサッカー選手としてプレーしていたが、新しい生活環境を求め2020年にシドニーへ移住。生活のために始めた塗装のアルバイトをきっかけに、色を扱う楽しさに目覚め、独学で絵を描き始める。偶然性や即興性を取り入れながら、その時々の感情を自由に描き出し、自身が見た景色や感じた瞬間を、多彩な色彩で作品として表現している。2024年12月より東京に拠点を移し、活動を展開中。

Seiji Kawakami

I was born in 1995 in Tochigi, Japan.
After a career as a professional soccer player, I relocated to Sydney in 2020 in search of a new environment and way of life. What began as a part-time job in house painting soon sparked a deeper fascination with color — a turning point that led me to begin creating art on my own terms. My practice is rooted in spontaneity and emotional honesty. I embrace improvisation, allowing my emotions to guide the brush as I translate the moments I’ve witnessed — and the ones I’ve felt — into vibrant compositions. Color is my language, and through it, I give form to the intangible. Since December 2024, I moved my base to Tokyo, where I continue to evolve and expand my work.
